The Age of Mythology Deathmatch community has crowd-funded an entire League on Meta Plays, and we are proud to assist in hosting. The main sponsors of Deathmatch League Season 2 are @Phenomenonand @GanG. Phenomenon will be managing these events, as well. Upon seeing their generous contribution, we have added $100 to the fold, as well as a custom banner and medals for the League Finale. Please note that unlike the Meta Plays Supremacy Season, this League is played on Age of Mythology: Extended Edition. WHERE TO WATCH Just to reiterate: this is a community league hosted ON Meta Plays, but not one hosted BY Meta Plays. As such, community streamers will be picking up the matches they can cover as and when. The Tournaments themselves are not one day events, so the best way to stay in the loop is to join the DM Discord, as well as to keep an eye on the brackets. Streamed games will be marked with times and have a Twitch icon over them linking to the stream, as usual. FEEL FREE TO PLAY Deathmatch may be intimidatingly fast and different, but the community is a very friendly one. DM players are always super eager to help someone new learn the ropes. Please don't hesitate to join, especially if you are a strong supremacy player looking to improve in the multitasking and late game departments! It will also offer you a very different experience from Supremacy, not just because of the mode itself, but also because these events are played on the DM Patch 2021 - which just got updated with some minor tweaks specifically for this league. -

The DM Patch 2021 mod rebalances the game with only DM in mind. The objective is to have each god be playable in a competitive environment. Changes vs Patch 2.8: Relics: New relic: Reed of Nekhebet - myth units deal 10% more damage. New relic: Roc Egg - a free Roc will spawn every 10 minutes. Scarab Pendant: all bonus vs buildings multipliers reduced to x1.25 (was x1.5 for siege, x2 for the myth units). Oseberg Wagon: speed boost on caravans reduced from 15% to 5%. Resources trickle rate relics (Ankh of Ra, Ship of Fingernails, Ring of the Nibelung) tripled in income. Staff of Dionysus Relic now increases Citizen (and Hero) Farm gather rates by 10%. Hi everyone, Now that we had 1 event of each supported launch game, it is time for us to give content creators access to our media assets. We are doing this in order to help the community produce higher quality, more professional-looking content. If you can credit us in your content when using these, we would appreciate it. The following would be a good way to do so: While the intro videos are our content, created by Ippert (AoM) , Maguro (SC2, WC3), PF2K (Info Panels) and myself(HW2), as a commission for Meta Plays, we will not be chasing people down for not crediting, nor will we be claiming monetized videos, naturally. However, please do not remove the logo branding during the map intro videos. We will be taking action in cases of abuse (e.g. re-branding of the intro clips). By using the clips and the casting tool, you agree to the above. You can integrate these into your streaming app by or downloading them from the below link. From here, we recommend using a unique scene for each of the intros, and switching between them with hotkeys, ideally via a tool like Touch Portal on mobile devices, or physical macro devices, such as the Stream Deck. The second tournament for Season 1 in Halo Wars 2! $100 and 1500 Meta Plays Ladder Points are up for grabs in this open, Single Elimination event. Please note this is a ONE DAY EVENT. You must complete the tournament in 1 sitting. The event might take 6+ hours. Make sure you have enough time before you sign up. Losing player each game picks next map. Each map may only be played once. Valid maps: Ashes, Bedrock, Fissures, Frontier, Mirage, Rift, Vault. No repeat leaders in a series. No Voridus. 1 leader ban per map per player. Accidental repeated leader/Voridus pick results in loss. No node strat - do not take nodes without the intent of killing Sentinels. Exception: you can draw the Sentinels to attack an enemy minibase or units, and still capture the node. Exception: Cannon Fodder can take nodes any way you want. 1 hour time limit. Casters must either call the winner, or give both sides 1 point. Replay match if the series ends on tie. No cheating or intentional exploiting of any form allowed. Hosting Games will be hosted by the higher seeded player when staff is not present. Casters will host if they are present. SOCIAL RULES Participants must be in the Meta Plays Discord. Report match results there, with links. Forfeiting/not showing up to any match with prizes will result in disqualification and you forfeiting the prizes. Forfeiting players that break rules on any of our platforms, or do so out of malicious intent will be banned from the next event. Repeat offenders will receive a ban from the entire season. There will not be a fourth chance after the season-long ban expires. Not showing up = late by over 15 minutes. No harassment or discrimination of players/viewers/staff on any of our platforms. You will be disqualified, forfeit of prizes in this event, and be permanently banned from all event participation. Do not sign up with smurfs. Match all account usernames. Can't wait to show off the assets we have, and the ladders/tournament profiles. They'll generate after the first event is done, and no doubt will influence the decisions of these guys as to whether they want to work with us. I have to say forums are pretty challenging in the current era. People are more interested in real time chats over detailed discussion. More interested in streams and casts than replays. Definitely a big cultural shift over the years. I do hope we can help to revitalize the scene a bit, though. Perhaps people will start on guides again. If nothing else, video formats for guides are perfectly fine and may be shared here just the same.

Welcome! Glad you like it, and thanks to Loki for the shout-out. We're an entirely different entity from all of the above, but are happy to partner up. As we stated in our announcement post, we are actually looking for community tournament hosts to make use of our tournament system. Their events would become a part of our season, contributing to the tournament ladders. Tournament hosts can apply here. Well, we have set up forums, should people wish to use them. It is entirely up to the community. RTS Sanctuary's guides are produced entirely by the community, and that would not be different here either. Yup, Champions League is awesome, great work by everyone involved. Like I said above, we are hosting our own league that is self-funded, and have many options for the community to contribute - donations, Patreon, and becoming a tournament host. It's no secret that all the folks you mentioned would be accepted as partners as soon as we get a chance to explain the tech side to them. We've got quite a bit more in store in terms of production quality for streams - stay tuned!

Hey everyone, on behalf of the dev and staff team, I am super happy to announce Meta Plays' launch! We have been slowly getting bits and pieces done over the last 4 years. As you can imagine a lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the project, and there is much more to come. Our launch trailer is below. We will support 4 games - Age of Mythology, Halo Wars 2, Starcraft II and Warcraft III, with tournaments being our primary content: Several tournaments together will form seasons (we are aiming for 2 seasons / year) As each tournament completes the players will: Receive cash prizes As part of our launch celebration, we are doing double prizes for Season 1! Gain points towards each games' ladders Earn medals and stats for their profile Depending on your ladder position, you will be placed in a Class, ranging from D to S. Class Split: Total number of players required for S/A class to be full: X=Y*100/Z S - Top Y=8 players by points. Expands for each draw by 1. Z=5 A - Top Y=9-32 players by points. Expands for each draw by 1. Z=10 B - next Z= 25% of the player base. Expands for each draw by 1. C - next Z= 35% of the player base. Expands for each draw by 1. D - the rest. Final ladder placements of the top 4 will be highlighted permanently on the Hall of Fame page. This will be generated when we end the season. Our ladder will be informing seeding decisions where it makes sense for us to do so, for example later on in the season. Each of the games will have their own schedule, but generally follow this convention: Weekend days are tournament days - each event is 1 day, and we alternate between the games Age of Mythology on Saturdays, every 3 weeks Halo Wars 2 on Saturdays, every 3 weeks (the week after Age of Mythology) StarCraft II on week days, every 3 weeks Warcraft III on week days, every 3 weeks (the week after StarCraft II) $300 open launch tournament to kick off the season in each game $100 open mid-season tournaments x6 $300 invitational season finale (top 16? As you know, many of our admin group used to hang out there before, and the lack of improvements (both because of unwillingness and inability) simply made us want to make a better version of it. We're in the final stages of our development. As I said before, we don't really want to invite people until we are sure the place is good enough - we're currently dealing with a bunch of bugs still. At this stage, though, we are less than 2 months away from the finish line. Hopefully everyone will like it as much as we all hope they will. You'll graduate from the newbie rank once you have 50 posts.
