Company of Heroes 20th Anniversary League Announcement

20 Years of Company of Heroes

In September 2006, Company of Heroes was released. That's 20 years ago. Can you believe it?

Fast forward to today, Relic has just announced the 3.0 update for Company of Heroes 3, bringing massive improvements to the game across visuals, audio, gameplay, campaign, multiplayer and they're also adding the Final Stand mode.

Here at Meta Plays, we got in touch with Relic with the goal of setting up a celebration for the multiplayer community, and we are very happy to share some great news about that: we are the proud hosts of the 20th Anniversary League, sponsored by Relic with a prize pool of 4,000 USD! As this is the biggest Company of Heroes 3 event we have ever hosted, we have also made a trailer.

The caster line up will include our very own Olvadi, as well as Greyshot, Turin, Shark, and of course Stormless!

League Format

We wanted to make sure that this league gives opportunities to everyone, while generously rewarding the most capable players.

To this end, we are holding two qualifiers with a single elimination structure. From these, we will advance the top players to the main event, which has a double elimination group stage, followed by a single elimination stage.

Depending on how many participants our qualifiers get, we will scale how many qualifying players there are for the main event.

• At minimum, 4 players will advance from each qualifier.
• At 24 participants or above, we will advance the top 6 players.
• At 32 participants or above, we will advance the top 8 players.
• So the maximum size of the main event will be 16 players, or 4 groups of 4.
  • We could also see 12, or 8 players - though we are optimistic you can max this event out!

Event Dates

Qualifier 1: Starting November 5th

Qualifier 2: Starting November 15th

Note: qualifiers are scheduled events, not played in one sitting. There will be deadlines for each match.

Main Event Group Stage Weekend: December 5-6th

Main Event Final Stage Weekend: December 12-13th

Note: the main event is played live in one sitting, with the second day being for the final 4 only.
