Company of Heroes 20th Anniversary League - Qualifier 1 - Company of Heroes 3 Tournaments

The first qualifier for the Company of Heroes 20th Anniversary League! In the main event, $4000 are up for grabs.

The tournament will start on Thursday, November 5th. Brackets will get locked at midnight UTC.

This tournament is a multi-day, scheduled event - please ensure to play your matches within each round's deadlines.

QUALIFICATION

At minimum, the top 4 players of this qualifier will advance to the main event.
With 24 participants or more, we will advance the top 6 players.
With 32 participants or more, we will advance the top 8 players.

GAME SETTINGS

Maps are played twice. In the second game, the players swap factions (axis vs allies).
Exception: the ace match acts as a decider and isn't played twice.
Battlegroup eliminations (a battlegroup can't be used more than once in bo3 or bo5)
Neither team member can can use a battlegroup that was played already
Allies are on Position 1.
Axis are on Position 2.
No Mirror Matches.
Admin Map Pool: Nexus, Piani Falliti, Crossroads, Flooded Plains, San Marino Hills, Torch, Ansaldo Genova, Egleton, Faymonville, Road to tunis, Djebel Pass
No cheating or intentional exploiting of any form allowed.

SETUP FOR BEST OF 3 AND BO5

Use the draft bot for Battlegroup vetoes and map picks
The higher seeded Player creates the draft ( follow the instruction down below)
Each player gets 2 BG bans per fraction ( you ban a bg for your opponent)
After the bans are done the bot generates a random map pool for your match up
- The Admin Map pool contains all maps that can be drawn
Map Pick Process for Best of 3:
- 4 candidate maps are drawn at random.
- 2 maps are picked manually, alternating between the players.
- The first map picker is chosen at random.
- Each player gets exactly 1 manual pick.
Map Pick Process for Best of 5:
- 6 candidate maps are drawn at random.
- 2 maps are picked alternately – 1 per player.
- Map 3 is selected randomly from the remaining candidates.

DRAFT BOT GUIDE

Command Overview:

Use these slash commands in your designated tournament channels:
- /show_map_pool: Displays an overview of the currently active map pool.
- /draft_rules: Shows the comprehensive rules and detailed inner workings of the draft system.
- /draft: Initiates a new draft session.
- /draft_cancel: Immediately terminates the active draft. Warning: Only use this if major issues or errors occur.

How to Correctly Use the Bot for a Draft Follow these step-by-step instructions to run your draft smoothly:

1. Initialize the Draft

One player must start the process by typing and entering the /draft command in the chat.

2. Fill out the Required Fields

Once the command is triggered, you will be prompted to fill in the match details:

Player 1: Select yourself.
Player 2: Select your opponent.
Best_of: Enter the match format (e.g., Bo1, Bo3, Bo5) based on the current tournament stage rules.

3. Select the Language
Choose the language in which the bot will communicate.
Note: The selected language applies to all participants and viewers for the entire duration of this draft.

4. Complete the Draft Process

Once configured, the draft begins publicly and is visible to everyone in the channel. For full details, refer to /draft_rules. Below is a quick summary of how the phases work:

Phase 1: Battlegroup Bans Both players simultaneously select their bans. You will ban 2 Battlegroups per faction. The bans you select will actively restrict choices for your opponent.
Phase 2: Map Picks The map pool consists of 11 maps in total. At the start of each draft, a fixed number of maps are randomly selected from this pool. Players then take turns picking maps.
Turn Order & Faction Choice: The starting player is determined randomly. The player who does not get to pick a map first is automatically granted the faction choice for the first round.

Want to see how the draft works before your official match? You can easily test the bot by running the /draft command and selecting yourself for both Player 1 and Player 2. This allows you to simulate the entire process and preview the workflow in advance.

Hosting

The higher seeded player should always host.

Replays

The winner has to upload all Replays in the Discord Replays Channel.
Find replays at: C:\Users\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 3\Playbacks.

SOCIAL RULES

Participants must be in the Meta Plays Discord. Report match results and provide replays there.
Forfeiting/not showing up to any match with money prizes without notice will result in disqualification and you forfeiting the prizes.
- 1 rescheduling opportunity is granted when external conditions force it. There will not be a second rescheduling.
- Forfeiting players that break rules on any of our platforms, or do so out of malicious intent will be banned from the next event.
- Repeat offenders will receive a ban for the entire current and next season. There will not be a fourth chance after the season-long ban expires.
Penalties for not showing up:
- Timer starts when 1 player is ready and neither player is currently playing a match.
- Late by over 10 minutes: opponent gains 1 match win.
  - This is the wait time BEFORE a series begins.
  - BETWEEN games in a series, the lateness limit is 5 minutes.
- Late by additional 5 minutes: opponent gains 1 match win for each 5 min.
- Once a player wins via lateness penalties, the late player is disqualified.
No harassment, discrimination, or false cheating accusations against players/viewers/staff on any of our platforms.
- You will be disqualified, forfeit of prizes in this event, and be permanently banned from all event participation.
- Cheating accusations are meant to handled in private with Meta Plays staff.
  - Stalling games after final staff decisions (e.g. via cheating accusation arguments) will result in lateness penalties.
No excessively derogatory messaging targeting our staff on any platform.
- This will result in a permanent ban on all Meta Plays platforms.
Win trading will result in forfeit. Do your best to win. You may resign if you are clearly losing.
Live coaching or any other external communication during matches is unacceptable and will result in a permanent ban from all Meta Plays events.
Do not sign up with smurfs. Match all account usernames. We will remove suspicious sign-ups.
No account sharing. You will be disqualified, forfeit prizes in this event, and will be permanently banned from all event participation.

STABILITY RULES

In the event of player lag disputes, players must submit speedtest results. The event manager will make a judgement call.
In the event of a disconnection or crash:
- If the game was relatively even:
  - If all parties crash, re-play the game.
  - The game doesn't count for score in the first instance. The player who didn't disconnect may choose a new map, and both players may choose a new leader.
  - In the second instance, the player who didn't disconnect receives a point on the score board.
  - In the third instance, the player who didn't disconnect wins the series.
    - If both sides crash 3 times, reset PC and internet.
- If a player was significantly ahead:
  - Admin win is awarded for the match for all cases.
  - In the third instance, the player who didn't disconnect wins the series.

PAYMENT (MAIN EVENT ONLY)

You will be paid within 90 days after the event.
Please reach out to @Nakamura with your payment information after the event.
- If you do not provide payment information despite requests within 90 days after the event, you forfeit the prize money.
- You confirm that the account you provide is owned by you. We do not take responsibility for funds getting lost to third parties in the event of the account not belonging to you. We will not pay out to a known third party.
We can pay out via Revolut, SWIFT or card-based bank transfers or PayPal. We do not pay out via other methods.
We do not pay extra to cover transfer or currency conversion fees.
- You may request to receive your prize in your local currency.
In light of sanctions against Russia and Belarus, we are not able to pay out prizes to residents of either country.
- Russian or Belarusian citizens are not affected by this if they reside in an un-sanctioned country, or have financial accounts in such a country able to receive payments.
- Affected prizes will be paid to a selected charity unrelated to the war in Ukraine, chosen by our staff.
