This mod heavy rebalances the game to more resemble the legacy AoM game, taking only the needs of the Deathmatch game mode into account.
The mod will be used in DM tournaments hosted by Meta Plays.

Goals:

  • Increase feelings of nostalgia
  • Improve the consistency of TC spawns
  • Add some new maps
  • Bring back instant kill myth units
  • Reduce power of siege weapons to increase game length
  • Increase god power cooldowns to encourage more myth unit usage
  • Bring back anti-building specialist human units into the meta
  • Boost some of the more underused minor gods
  • Reduce Chinese dominance

Maps:

  • Town Center spawns reined in - they will no longer spawn at inconvenient distances for the following:
    • Alfheim
    • Blue Lagoon
    • Elysium
    • Ghost Lake
    • Giza
    • Oasis
    • Savannah
    • Tundra
  • Alfheim cliff sizes drastically reduced
  • Oasis no longer spawns the central forest as a single blob
  • New maps:
    • Frozen Wastes (credit to AL): central square shaped land map surrounded by ice
    • Tartarus: similar to Alfheim, but underworld themed, featuring capturable shrines that spawn free myth units over time

General:

  • Blind pick enabled in lobbies - you won't see the gods picked until you're loaded in
  • Relics not affecting DM won't spawn
  • Deathmatch Tower limit: 10 -> 20
  • Deathmatch god power cooldown multiplier: 1x -> 2x
  • Town Center, Tower and Fortress-type building hack armor: 50% -> 40%
  • Masons Building HP effect: +20% -> +25% 
  • Engineers Siege damage effect: +50% -> +20%
  • Advanced Fortifications damage effect: +50% -> +20%
  • Advanced Fortifications hack armor effect removed

Atlantean:

  • Atlantean Hero conversion time: 7s -> 4s
  • Citizen HP: 100 -> 115
  • Citizen Hero HP: 125 -> 150
  • New Empyrian Speed effect: infantry attacks 10% faster
  • Katapeltes (and hero) bonus vs siege: 0 -> 2x
  • Spider Lair cost escalation: 3 -> 2 Favor
  • Carnivora: is now healable
  • Carnivora recast cost: 20 -> 10
  • Valor recast cost: 1 -> 0
  • Satyr bonus vs myth units: x3 -> x2
  • Pioneer of the Skies AoE: 4 -> 2
  • Traitor cost escalation: 15 -> 5
  • Traitor CD: 180 -> 120s
  • Hesperides Tree CD: 60s -> 120s
  • Hesperides Tree recast favor cost: 0 -> 75
  • Lance of Stone: Contarius Heroes gain x2 bonus vs buildings

  • Kuafu build and repair rates reduced by 20%

  • Creation Clay Peasants spawned in Heroic/Mythic/Wonder Ages: 8/12/30 -> 6/8/10
  • Creation recast favor cost: 75 -> 100
  • Earth Wall cooldown: 120s -> 180s
  • Sage limit: 5 -> 3
  • Chu Ko Nu damage: 8 -> 6
  • Drought duration: 60s -> 40s
  • Drought recast cost escalation: 5 -> 25
  • Scorching Feathers no longer affects myth units and heroes.

  • Roc can perform hot pickups, landing ability removed
  • Ancestors recast cost: 100 -> 75 favor
  • Nebty: now affects Son of Osiris
  • New Nebty effect: adds +1 divine damage to Priests vs myth units 
  • New Spirit of Maat effect: heroes regenerate at 1 HP/s
  • Phoenix egg hatch time: 50s -> 20s
  • Mummy Reincarnation ability no longer has AoE or bonus damages
